Our showroom and factory tours invite clients, designers, architects, and lighting enthusiasts to experience our contemporary architectural lighting in person and see exactly how it’s made.

Conceived as a full hospitality experience, the showroom exhibits our rich product portfolio. It’s a place to gather, exchange ideas, and convene with the design community. By appointment only.

Juniper’s headquarters is located in a beautifully restored historic mill building in central Connecticut, serving as the home for our management, manufacturing, and design.

We welcome trade professionals to schedule a 2-hour factory tour and experience our production process firsthand. Tours are available Monday, Tuesday, and Friday from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with at least 48 hours’ notice required. Please include your trade credentials when submitting your request.

Juniper Welcomes Connecticut Governor Lamont to Southington Factory

Juniper was pleased to welcome Governor Ned Lamont, of Connecticut, to the Southington factory. Governor Lamont toured the facility with Juniper CEO and Founder, Shant Madjarian, and got an inside look at the manufacturing and production process. He took the time to engage with employees and learn about Juniper’s growth over the past few years.

“Lamont stopped at several work-stations along the tour and introduced himself to employees. He remarked that the fixtures he saw were “beautiful.”” – New Britain Herald

Labor Commissioner Danté Bartolomeo and Commissioner of Economic and Community Development, David Lehman, also joined the tour in Southington, praising the company’s innovation and growth. The local press was invited to capture footage of the event and participated in a Q&A with the Governor at the end of the tour.

“…Lamont remarked that he was pleased to see that a company that relocated to Connecticut was “growing fast”.…we’re doing everything we can to have more companies like Juniper grow and expand in Connecticut,” he said. “This is a great success story…” “This is exactly what Connecticut and Southington needs,” – Governor Lamont, New Britain Herald

Architectural Digest Design Show 2019 with Marras Design

Marras Design is a New York City-based firm catered to luxury spaces and high-end lighting design. Before co-founding his own firm in 2013, Jon-Carlo Marras lead projects for Yale Moyer Lighting for numerous years. There, he built an impressive portfolio including high-profile client homes in the Hamptons like Ina Garten, Helmut Lang, Ray Dalio, André Balazs, and Eli Zabar. Ryan Curtis, Principal of Marras Design, has a practical background in physics, mathematics, and construction, giving him a headstart in functional design.

Together, the design duo creates stunning indoor and outdoor lighting designs. From residential to commercial spaces, and everything in between, their designs include focal lighting installations and ambient architectural lighting.

This year at Architectural Digest Design Show 2019, Juniper contributed lighting to Marras Design’s booth, creating warmth and softness through lighting. The Love Me Not Pendant is featured in the booth’s inset space to provide a warm glow to the indoor/outdoor vignette. Designed by Pascale Girardin, the Love Me Not Pendant offers a delicate serenity with a warm glow as light disperses through porcelain-like satinice Evonik acrylic that’s hand-formed by Juniper’s passionate team.

To illuminate Marras Design’s signage, Juniper contributed the THIN Surface Mount Picture Light in Satin Brass. Designed by Peter Bristol, the THIN Modular Lighting System provides magnetically-connected light segments that extend into custom shapes and lengths with simple installation. LED light segments rotate a full 360° to adjust the light’s beam after installation.

An array of our THIN Suspensions in Black Oxide are installed above a divided central kitchen island to mirror the black countertop and dark, rich wood underneath. They are displayed in equal drop heights, enforcing its linear profile.

The Collaborators

In last year’s KBIS, we unveiled the DeKauri collaboration, spearheaded by renowned architect and designer Daniel Germani. He partnered with designers once again for KBIS Las Vegas 2019 to exhibit a contemporary kitchen concept by utilizing designs that embody crisp lines and modern architectural elements.

Poliform displays a customized kitchen system that demonstrates a minimal profile, fitted with cabinet doors and panels by Dekton by Cosentino. They used superior materials to establish a durable kitchen solution that thrives both in form and function. Highlighting the kitchen system, Juniper installed THIN Suspensions to further accentuate the linear aesthetic.

About the THIN Suspension

Sleek and modern, the THIN Suspension exhibits a reduced form through a single line, designed by Peter Bristol for Juniper. It connects magnetically to make installation quick and easy. This feature also allows users to connect light segments together to form longer, cohesive configurations above countertops, vanity mirrors, or modern artworks. With the ability to fully rotate, the THIN Suspension’s direct and indirect lighting can be repositioned to your liking.

Get To Know Juniper Owner and Founder, Shant Madjarian

Shant is a dedicated man with innovative ideas, just like the Ground Control Collection that has endless technological possibilities. He usually arrives at the office early before anyone else and has been known to spend a Saturday in our lighting design studio. Between discussing new products and big ideas with product development and marketing teams, Shant jumps between the office and production to make sure everything runs smoothly.

WHERE ARE YOU ORIGINALLY FROM?

I’m from Montréal, Québec. Besides it being my home, Montreal is also where my parents are running a lighting manufacturing business of their own for the last 35 years.

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO START JUNIPER? AND WHY NEW YORK?

I have a passion for creating new and better ways of doing things, sometimes even mundane things. I also have a love for design, and I believed I could make a positive impact in the field. I set up a shop in New York simply because this was and is my home. I have been a New Yorker since 2000, when I moved here to begin my career in Finance. Ultimately, I saw the potential in New York as it is the center of design, being surrounded by new ideas and technology.

HOW DID YOU TRANSITION FROM FINANCE TO LIGHTING?

I actually didn’t foresee the lighting industry in my future, but I learned a lot about the business growing up. At first, I chose Finance as my career. I worked as a Financial Analyst & Investment Banker for 13 years before I impulsively launched a business in design.

American Lighting Introduced During Il Salone Del Mobile’s Design Fair

Our retail partner, Galerie 46, hosted a successful design fair on October 9th with Trade Tech and Elle Decoration. They introduced American lighting manufactured in New York to the Russian region during Il Salone Del Mobile 2018 in L’Appartement Gallery, with Juniper as one of the selected honorees.

The THIN Task Lamp Over A Desk & The Wall-Mounted THIN Primaries Triangle

The gallery housed our signature designs such as the minimal THIN Task Lamp, articulating THIN Chandelier, wall-mounted THIN Primaries Triangle, and Juniper’s first product in the industry, the M Lamp. These American lighting fixtures were witnessed by 250 well-known designers and architects as they enjoyed food, beverages, photo shoots, and a lecture by Elle Decoration’s Editor-in-Chief, Alexey Dorozhkin.

Galerie 46, a Juniper retailer, and its longtime business partner, TradeTech, is hosting a design fair during the II Salone Del Mobile 2018, showcasing “Made in New York. Modern Lighting Design. Juniper”. The said event will be on October 9th, 7 PM, at L’Appartement Gallery in Moscow.

Galerie 46 is Juniper’s retail partner based in Russia, where you will find some of our signature THIN fixtures such as the THIN Chandelier and the THIN Task Lamp. They are also known to carry other prominent interior brands such as Ralph Lauren Home and Wilde+Spieth in their various showroom locations.

Meanwhile, TradeTech is Galerie 46’s distributor company that collaborates with luxury interior businesses that have yet to be heard of in Russia. They do not, however, just impose any brand in the Russian and Ex-Soviet Union market, but brands that have proven their worth in the industry as seen in prominent exhibitions worldwide.

Our New Designs Debuting at ICFF 2018

ICFF 2018 will be featuring thousands of brand new designs and products, perfect for industry professionals and luxury dreamers alike. The International Contemporary Furniture Fair is May 20-23 at the Jacob Javits Center in New York (3rd floor), encompassing hundreds of booths and companies. From bathroom hardware, tile, and handmade goods to luxury sculptures, textiles, and lighting, ICFF 2018 will showcase the best of the best in design. Juniper is proud to join the hundreds of vendors at ICFF 2018 to show the world brand new designs for all to enjoy. Meet the Designs

The Axis Collection

A brand new collection that has never before been seen, the Axis Collection will be making its very first appearance at ICFF 2018. The Axis Collection explores the balance of form and light through reductive design. Designed by Miren Lasnier of Juniper, the collection draws inspiration from the extruded angles, channels, and tees that proliferated during the Industrial Revolution and remain virtually unchanged until today. Each fixture is made up of parallel angles that embrace arrays of light radiating from a central channel. The bronze angles are balanced by the warm illumination of the LED arrays.

The Axis Collection encompasses a variety of suspended and wall-mounted configurations. Each style possesses its own visual language and highlights a unique orientation. The core of the Axis Collection blends modesty with luxury to create dynamic lighting silhouettes.

THIN Primaries Rectangle & Hexagon

This year, we’re adding two new shapes to the THIN Primaries collection. The THIN Primaries Rectangle offers a twist on our THIN Primaries Square fixture, where two 24-inch and two 36-inch LED light segments create a stunning rectangle. Perfect for lobbies, hallways, over dining tables and desk spaces, the THIN Primaries Rectangle is available in our signature brass finishes for a luxurious aesthetic. The THIN Primaries Hexagon is also brand new to the line, offering 6 light segments, in a choice of 24-inch or 36-inch lengths. Create an illuminated geometric installation over a round table, in a stairwell, or an entryway.

Metropolis Wall Sconce

At ICFF 2018, we will also be debuting the brand new Metropolis Wall Sconce. With common motifs from its cousin, the Metropolis Wall to Wall, the Metropolis Wall Sconce is defined centrally by its three-inch illuminated cylinder profile. An aluminum core bisects the fixture into independently operated hemispheres, while an optional perforated mesh diffuser adds visual texture and austerity. The rectangular backplate is unique to the wall sconce and is designed to allow vertical and horizontal mounting, while a mini version of the sconce is optimized for sign and wall detail illumination. With elements of integrated shapes, materials, and textures, the Metropolis Wall Sconce joins the Metropolis Collection to bring contemporary aesthetics with subtle vintage references to unique spaces worldwide.

Ground Control Dimmer Knobs & Power Outlet

2017-2018 has been a productive time for Juniper, in that we’ve also extended the Ground Control Power Accessories line. The collection now features a Toggle Switch, Double USB Port, and new Dimmer Knobs and Power Outlet.

Inspired by the dials and switches of mid-century mission control rooms, the Ground Control Collection unites vintage aesthetics with modern functionality through a series of brass surface-mounted power accessories.

Rotating brass dimmers pay tribute to the intentional designs and heavy-hand feel of quality vintage audio controls. The Ground Control Dimmer features two styles. The Dimmer Knob supports a large knurled brass knob that delivers a satisfying weight as it rotates. The slim Dimmer Dial features a broad circular brass plate atop a slender neck. In each case, a gratifying click provides the assurance that the lamp is fully powering-off. The dimmers are nestled in a solid brass universal grommet designed to be easily mounted to panels or desktops. Ground Control Dimmers are compatible with most Juniper products including the THIN System collection. Dimmers may be compatible with other 12-24V constant-voltage LED light fixtures.

The Ground Control US Power Outlet is a surface-mounted power receptacle designed to be installed on panels and desktops. The UL-Listed outlet is embedded inside a precision-machined solid brass grommet. The natural patina finishes and subtle raise above the mounting surface speak to the simple luxury of the design. The power outlet can be mounted solo or paired seamlessly with other Ground Control family members to construct an up-scale power management station.

Juniper at ICFF 2018 may be the biggest event of the year. Okay, that’s pretty dramatic. But it’ll be a really big deal, to say the least. This year, Juniper will be debuting all new lighting collections and power accessories! Among other new additions to our signature collections, we’re kicking it up a notch by flooding our booth (#453) with the latest developments in our design studio.

Alongside Juniper will be hundreds of vendors showcasing their best-sellers and new products, too. This annual New York event is one of the biggest design tradeshows of the year, pulling in thousands of trade professionals and increasing in volume each year.
