Multiverse is a modular system — it adapts to your space, not the other way around. Whether you’re working from a reflected ceiling plan, a quick sketch, or a concept still taking shape, our team will help translate what you have into a buildable system.

2. Planning Support, Included

Project planning is part of every Multiverse specification — there is no fee for review, layout development, or submittal preparation.

Our team will:

• Evaluate your layout and spatial conditions
• Clarify power and dimming requirements
• Define component quantities
• Prepare detailed submittal drawings
• Provide a transparent quotation

This stage is where alignment happens, before fabrication begins.

3. Pricing

Pricing is transparent from the first conversation.

The Ribbon, connectors, and mounting hardware are priced per linear foot — so project cost scales predictably with track length. Spot modules, Weave fixtures, Illuminated Ribbon, power supplies, and power hubs are quoted as line items based on your layout.

Every quotation includes a full component breakdown. Because we sell direct, pricing stays consistent across projects — no rep chain, no guesswork.

4. Starting Your Submittal

5. What You Will Receive

Once we receive a signed quote or PO, along with a 50% deposit, we will move forward with:

• Detailed submittal drawings specific to your project
• A complete component list with dimensions
• Power supply locations and quantities
• Switching and circuit clarification
• A finalized BOM

Drawing lead times begin once the signed quote or PO and deposit are received. We are currently targeting up to approximately 5 business days, depending on project scope. Once drawings are approved, the order is released into production and the production lead time stated on the quote begins.

6. Power & Integration

Multiverse runs on 24V low voltage, which simplifies distribution and widens the range of workable installation conditions. Our power supplies are engineered specifically for the Multiverse Ribbon and support most major dimming platforms — forward phase (Triac, the traditional incandescent standard), reverse phase (ELV), and 0–10V. If your project’s dimming method is unsettled, there’s a strong chance it will be compatible.

The one decision that typically sits with the specifier is where power lives. A remote power supply can sit in a ceiling cavity, mechanical space, or adjacent area, keeping the ceiling plane unbroken. When above-ceiling access isn’t available, the Multiverse Power Hub mounts locally, sitting on the ceiling surface over an existing junction box and becoming a finished element at the ceiling rather than something to conceal. Most designers know which of these is
workable for their project early on.

7. Finishes & Custom Color

We can match most major color systems, including RAL, Pantone, Benjamin Moore, and Sherwin-Williams. To specify a custom color, send a color code or a physical swatch, 2″ × 2″ or larger preferred, to our Connecticut factory.

After we receive a signed quote or PO, along with a 50% deposit, Juniper will provide a custom finish sample for approval. The order will be released into production once the custom finish sample and submittal drawings are approved.

8. Installation Documentation

Your submittal defines what goes where. The Multiverse Installation Guide defines how it installs.

On smaller projects, coordinating with the electrician often falls to the designer. The Installation Guide is written to be shared directly with contractors — it covers mounting, connection sequences, and power feed requirements, so you’re not translating between us and the electrical scope.

What Is UL?

UL Solutions, formerly known as Underwriters Laboratories, is a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) that has been setting safety benchmarks in the United States and Canada for over a century. With more than 1,000 proprietary testing standards, UL evaluates products to ensure they meet strict requirements for safe performance. Their mark builds trust between manufacturers, specifiers, and end users by verifying that a product is safe for its intended application.

What Is UL Listing?

UL Listing signifies that a product has been tested and certified by UL Solutions to meet specific, nationally recognized safety standards. Products undergo evaluation for potential hazards such as fire, electrical shock, and mechanical failure.

Rather than testing every single unit themselves, UL authorizes certified manufacturers to perform ongoing in-house compliance checks. UL then conducts regular follow-up inspections to ensure that all products consistently meet the required safety criteria. This process ensures the UL Listing mark truly reflects ongoing product safety—not just a one-time test.

Is UL Listing Required?

While UL Listing is not legally required for all products, it is considered an industry best practice. Many consumers, designers, and resellers prefer UL-listed fixtures because they provide assurance of safety, proper wiring, correct voltages, and reliable performance.

In some cases—such as certain commercial projects, hospitality environments, or jurisdictions following specific electrical codes—UL Listing (or an equivalent NRTL certification) may be mandatory for installation approval.

Are Juniper Products UL-Listed?

Yes. All Juniper lighting and power systems are UL listed, ensuring they meet or exceed nationally recognized safety standards. Certified for residential, hospitality, and commercial applications, each product is tested for compliance with the National Electrical Code and other relevant regulations.

Most high-quality fixtures, including Juniper’s THIN System, are compatible with dimmers—offering a level of control and versatility that a standard light switch can’t match.

While LEDs can operate without a dimmer, pairing them with one delivers added benefits in energy efficiency, longevity, and adaptability.

Indirect Lighting

For bathrooms, task lighting is the ideal choice for delivering bright, focused illumination where it’s needed most, providing both safety and functionality. We recommend dimmable fixtures with a high lumen output—bright enough for grooming tasks, yet adjustable to create softer ambient light when desired. Quality task lighting minimizes glare and prevents eye strain, making it ideal for mirror and vanity areas.

CCT (Color Temperature)

Color temperature refers to the hue of light a fixture emits, measured in Kelvin (K). Lower values produce warm, amber light, while higher values create a cooler, bluish tone. For most bathrooms, a range between 3000K (Warm White) and 4000K (Daylight) provides a crisp yet flattering light that supports both visibility and comfort.

CRI (Color Rendering Index)

CRI measures how accurately a light source renders colors compared to natural daylight, on a scale from 0 (poor) to 100 (excellent). In bathrooms—where accurate skin tone representation and true color rendering are important—a CRI of 90 or higher is recommended. All Juniper fixtures meet or exceed this standard, ensuring colors look natural and vibrant.

When selecting architectural or decorative lighting, two specifications—CRI (Color Rendering Index) and CCT (Correlated Color Temperature)—play a critical role in how your space looks and feels.

CRI (Color Rendering Index) and R9 Value

What It Means

CRI measures how accurately a light source renders colors compared to natural light, using eight standard pastel color samples. The scale ranges from 0 to 100, with higher numbers indicating more accurate color rendering. A CRI above 90 is considered excellent, and 95+ is ideal with today’s lighting technology.

Closely related is the R9 value, which measures how accurately a light source reproduces true, vibrant reds—a critical factor in applications such as retail displays, restaurant lighting, and art presentation. An R9 value of 60 or higher is considered good, with higher values delivering even greater accuracy and richness in red tones.

Juniper’s fixtures achieve 95+ CRI and 90+ R9, delivering accurate and consistent color rendering across applications.

Why It Matters

High CRI and R9 values ensure colors appear natural and vibrant, a critical factor across various applications.

In art galleries, they preserve the subtle variations in hue and texture as intended by the artist. Vanity lighting ensures natural skin tones and accurate makeup appearance under daylight conditions. In restaurants, true color rendering enhances the presentation of every dish, making it more appealing. In retail environments, it allows fabrics, finishes, and materials to be displayed authentically, supporting informed purchasing decisions.

CCT (Correlated Color Temperature)

What Does It Mean?

CCT describes the warmth or coolness of a light’s appearance and is measured in degrees Kelvin (K). Lower values produce warmer, amber-toned light, while higher values produce cooler, bluish light. Around 1900K, the light resembles candlelight, creating a very warm and intimate glow. At 3000K, the light is a warm white, and at 5000K, it is bright and cool, similar to daylight.

Why Does It Matter?

CCT plays a significant role in shaping the mood and functionality of a space. Warmer color temperatures between 2400K and 3000K create a relaxed and welcoming environment, making them ideal for living rooms, restaurants, lounges, and bedrooms. Cooler color temperatures between 3000K and 4000K enhance alertness and visibility, making them better suited to offices, healthcare environments, and bathrooms.

CRI and CCT in Lighting Design

The best lighting choices account for both CRI and CCT. A high CRI with a strong R9 value ensures that colors are rendered accurately, while the right CCT helps set the appropriate mood and supports the intended function of the space.

With today’s advanced LED technology, designers can choose a fixture’s color temperature to suit their project. 

Color temperature determines the hue of light emitted, ranging from amber to blue on the Kelvin scale. 

Lower color temperatures (e.g., 2700K) produce a warm, amber glow similar to candlelight, while higher temperatures (e.g., 4000K) emit a cooler, bluish light that resembles daylight.

The ideal color temperature depends on the purpose and mood of the space. Warmer temperatures (2700K–3000K) are typically used in residential settings like living rooms and dining areas to convey warmth and comfort. 

Cooler temperatures (3000K–4000K) are better suited for offices, kitchens, and bathrooms, where clarity, functionality, and a sense of cleanliness are key.

For a balanced option, we often recommend 3000K, which tends to work well across most environments. If you’re combining multiple fixtures, be sure to match color temperatures throughout the space to maintain a cohesive atmosphere.

Why Brass?

Brass has served lighting design for centuries. Originally chosen for its non-sparking properties in gas lamp applications, it evolved naturally into the electric era. That legacy endures in the threads and fittings still used in our products today.

Brass is not a single material but a family of copper-based alloys. We use brasses containing 60–70% copper, resulting in a deep, warm gold tone that complements both contemporary and traditional spaces. Unlike plated alternatives, solid brass maintains its color throughout the piece.

It isn’t just functional—it’s graceful. Naturally antimicrobial and corrosion-resistant, it develops a rich patina over time, capturing history on its surface. Built for permanence, brass stands in quiet contrast to a disposable world.

The Finishing Process

Finishes start with solid brass components, precisely machined in our Connecticut factory. Each surface is polished by hand to a directional satin sheen before receiving a finish—either plating or patina.

Satin Brass, English Bronze, and Black Oxide finishes are all hand-patinated through a five-stage process. First, we clean each part and immerse it in a mild acid bath, adjusting the exposure time to achieve the desired depth of tone. A brief immersion produces Satin Brass; longer exposure reveals the rich, chocolate hues of English Bronze. At its darkest, the surface fully oxidizes into our deep, matte Black Oxide finish. 

Satin Nickel follows a different path. After polishing, the part is plated off-site with a thin layer of nickel, then lightly refinished by hand to preserve our signature satin texture. 

All finishes are sealed in-house with a clear lacquer—gloss for most, matte for Black Oxide—applied in a precise choreography by our finishing team. The result is a surface that maintains its tone for years while subtly revealing the character gained over time.  

Built to Age, Designed to Last 

Over time, all brass finishes naturally develop subtle changes influenced by air quality, UV exposure, and handling. Our protective lacquer significantly slows this aging process without preventing it entirely. Instead, it ensures that the finish matures gracefully, preserving durability without degradation. 

If a fixture needs rewiring or reconfiguration decades from now, the brass will remain strong, intact, and more beautiful with age.

Choosing the Right Finish

Satin Brass: Classic warmth and elegance.

English Bronze: A richer, moodier tone with depth.

Black Oxide: A matte black with visible life beneath the surface.

Systems & Solutions

What is GFI/GFCI Protection?

GFI (Ground Fault Interrupter) or GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) protection is a safety mechanism required by electrical codes in locations where electricity and moisture may come into contact—such as kitchens, bathrooms, outdoor areas, and some commercial applications. GFCI devices detect imbalances in electrical current and shut off power within milliseconds to prevent electric shock.

Juniper’s Ground Control receptacles are tamper-resistant for added safety but do not include integral GFI/GFCI protection. To comply with code requirements, one of the following external GFI/GFCI methods must be used:

Option 1: GFI Breaker at the Electrical Panel

A GFCI circuit breaker is installed at the main or sub panel to protect the entire circuit.

Pros:
– Cleanest aesthetic: no visible GFI device at the point of use.
– Protects all downstream outlets on the same circuit.
– Fewer devices to install in the field.

Cons:
– Troubleshooting is more difficult—requires access to the panel.
– A fault at any downstream device trips the entire circuit.
– Not ideal for circuits serving multiple GFCI-required locations.

Option 2: GFI Receptacle Inline with Ground Control Receptacle

A standard duplex GFCI receptacle is installed upstream of the Ground Control unit, typically in the same box or an adjacent junction box.

Pros:
– Cost-effective and widely available.
– Easy to test and reset at the point of use.
– Can protect multiple downstream Ground Control units.

Cons:
– May require visible or adjacent installation, disrupting the design intent.
– Aesthetically intrusive if not concealed.

Option 3: Dead Front (Blank Face) GFI Device Inline

A GFI device with no receptacle (“dead front”) is installed upstream or adjacent to the Ground Control unit, providing protection without adding another outlet.

Pros:
– Meets code without adding an accessible plug face.
– Can be concealed more easily than a standard GFI receptacle.
– Provides reset/test access without doubling outlet count.

Cons:
– Still adds a visible faceplate unless concealed in cabinetry or millwork.
– May be unfamiliar to some installers.

Each of the above options complies with electrical code requirements and is compatible with Juniper’s Ground Control receptacles. The best choice depends on the project’s aesthetic priorities, access requirements, and wiring plan. For high-visibility applications, the dead front GFI offers a discreet yet compliant solution. For easier maintenance and testing, a standard GFI receptacle may be preferred. A GFI breaker is most effective when upstream access is acceptable and minimal aesthetic impact is desired.
