Interior Design’s Top 15 ICFF Standout Products: The Metropolis Wall Sconce

Interior Design Magazine has announced their list of Top 15 Standout Products to See at ICFF 2018. Among designs from Gentner Design, Zavotti, and Ercol, Juniper’s Metropolis Wall Sconce has already made quite an impression with ICFF enthusiasts.

The Metropolis Wall Sconce is defined centrally by its three-inch illuminated cylindrical profile. An aluminum core bisects the fixture into two independently-controlled high-output light hemispheres. An optional perforated mesh diffuser adds visual texture and austerity. The rectangular backplate is unique to the wall sconce and is designed to allow vertical and horizontal wall-mounting at a minimal profile.

Designed in collaboration with David Meckley and Huntsman Architectural Group, the Metropolis Wall Sconce is the newest member of Juniper’s high-output lighting system. The Metropolis Collection was born out of a challenge to design a light fixture for a renovated 1960s rock-venue-turned-office space. David Meckley and his design team distilled themes and influence popular throughout the era to design a cohesive solution drawing on complex nostalgic cues.

The Metropolis Wall Sconce plays to a larger, optical theme at hand with subtle nods to Bauhaus and nautical design elements woven throughout each of the collection’s three application styles: the Metropolis Wall Sconce, the Metropolis Suspension, and the Metropolis Wall-to-Wall System.
