The Cut Features a Revamped Bachelor Pad by Jae Joo with the THIN Floor Lamp

The Cut is a curated high-end blog by New York Magazine, created for professionals of style, self, culture, and power. Homepolish designer Jae Joo‘s 4-bedroom bachelor pad project was recently featured for its minimal interior, encapsulating upscale furniture and light fixtures by designers such as Madeline Weinrib, Vonnegut/Kraft, and Juniper.

The Loft’s Interior

Coming from the fashion & design industry, Jae Joo developed an eclectic taste. With her client, the owner of the 4,000-square-foot loft, leaning toward more conservative and minimal aesthetics, the two collaborated to remodel a space that pulled strong assets from both tastes.

Designer Furniture & Pieces

The bachelor pad opens up to a large living space with a recessed bookshelf unit designed by James Ramsey of Raad Studio. To create a comfortable reading nook, our dimmable and adjustable THIN Floor Lamp in Satin Brass was placed beside a cream and wood daybed by Vonnegut/Kraft.

Joo designed an open, convertible space using pocket doors that transform it into a warm, cozy den. It houses a gray-toned sectional sofa by Restoration Hardware for reading, watching movies, or relaxing. A colossal window brightens the room with natural light, where a minimal work surface is embellished with a desk chair by Suite NY.

One of the bedrooms was designed to embody minimalism by sticking to clean lines, light wood, and built-in pieces such as the bed with a hidden TV at its foot. The space is adorned with a curved standing mirror by The Future Perfect.

A guest bedroom was also revamped with rich wood elements, like the bed by Design Within Reach, and hints of cerulean blue using throw pillows and a reupholstered tufted ottoman from Eames.
