Mordecai Chicago Adorned with THIN Lighting Configurations

Being home to the Chicago Cubs, bars in Wrigleyville are frequently packed with rowdy supporters. Mordecai, instead, attracts a crowd looking for a refined atmosphere to enjoy sports during the day and a selection of spirits by night. The elevated two-story bar and restaurant is known for its extensive menu of vintage alcoholic beverages that features the largest Pappy Van Winkle whiskey collection in the United States.

Mordecai is a large space of almost 4,000 square feet inside the 4-star Hotel Zachary that stands across Wrigley Field. It is owned by Chef Matthias Merges and was developed by Folkart Restaurant Manager, the impressive team behind the award-winning Billy Sunday. The high-end bar that houses over 100 seats and 250 bottles of aged spirits are highlighted using magnetically connected brass segments of our THIN Multiples Dyad. These configurations create an inviting and warm atmosphere for guests who want to enjoy a drink or two.

Paying homage to the spirit of baseball, the premium bar’s name was coined from the iconic pitcher Mordecai “Three Finger” Brown. The interior design team from fcSTUDIO Inc dedicated a wall of black and white portraits of Mordecai, illuminated by a rotatable THIN Surface Mount Picture Light. The wall-mounted fixture is characterized by its 1/2-inch diameter segment that stands out in any space without stealing the show from the artwork.
