WHAT IS UL?

UL is a reputable Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) that establishes trust between a manufacturer and a consumer in the United States and Canada. With over 100 years of experience, UL has assessed and tested various products using over 1,000 standards they developed to determine public safety.

WHAT IS UL LISTING?

UL Listing confirms that a manufacturer has the capacity to innovate products that meet UL Standards. Instead of UL tediously testing each product, manufacturers are authorized to evaluate their own products and mark it as UL listed. UL then gets in constant communication with manufacturers to ensure they are truly abiding by the requirements.

IS US LISTING REQUIRED?

Listing your products with UL is completely optional. However, consumers and even resellers would prefer products that have passed safety standards. This gives confidence that there is honesty in product claims, in as little as correct wiring, proper voltages, and other functional abilities. In some cases, electrical codes may require your products to be UL-listed as a safety precaution.
