Designing Clarity into the Specification Process

Pricing, Without Guesswork

At Juniper, we believe pricing should be clear, predictable, and aligned with the way designers actually work.

Architectural lighting systems are inherently configurable. Mounting conditions, lengths, optics, finishes, and color temperature all shape the final specification. Yet historically, pricing for these systems has often been opaque—requiring emails, manual quotes, or reference tables that leave room for interpretation.

We believe there is a better approach.

Our commitment to pricing transparency means that once a product is configured, the corresponding price should be immediately understandable.

Not approximate.
Not negotiated behind the scenes.
Simply defined.

This principle is part of a broader philosophy that guides how Juniper products are designed and manufactured: systems should be modular, specification should be clear, and information should be accessible.

Transparency supports better design decisions.

Configuration as the Source of Truth

Many Juniper lighting systems are modular platforms rather than single fixed products. Systems like Multiverse and THIN are designed to adapt to a wide range of architectural conditions through interchangeable components and configurable elements.

Because of this flexibility, a single family of products may produce thousands of potential configurations.

Rather than publishing large pricing matrices or requiring custom quotations, we structure pricing directly around the configuration itself.

Mounting.
Length.
Finish.
Color temperature.
Optics.

Each parameter contributes to a clearly defined SKU and price.

As selections are made, the configurator generates the corresponding configuration code and price on demand. The result is a specification that remains synchronized with the way the product is engineered and manufactured.

For designers, this reduces uncertainty during specification. For Juniper, it ensures pricing reflects the real structure of the product.

Designed for Designers

Lighting specification often happens early in the design process—long before final construction details are resolved.

During this phase, architects and designers are exploring options, testing layouts, and refining lighting strategies. Pricing should support that exploration rather than slow it down.

By structuring pricing around configuration logic, the Juniper system allows designers to evaluate options as they work.

Adjust a mounting type.
Extend a run length.
Change a finish.

The price updates accordingly.

This approach removes friction from the specification process and makes the relationship between design choices and cost easier to understand.

Systems Thinking

Transparency in pricing is closely tied to how Juniper designs products. Our systems are built around modular components and repeatable design logic. Components connect, extend, and adapt to different spaces without requiring entirely new products each time.

This modular intelligence makes systems like Multiverse and THIN adaptable across projects while maintaining consistent performance and aesthetics.

Pricing transparency simply extends that same logic into the specification process.

If a system is designed to be configurable, its pricing should be as well.

A Clearer Relationship Between Design and Cost

When pricing is transparent, it becomes part of the design conversation rather than a barrier to it.

Designers can evaluate options with confidence.
Clients can understand decisions earlier.
Projects move forward with fewer surprises.

For Juniper, transparency reflects a broader commitment to working directly with architects, designers, and clients in a straightforward way.

Clear systems.
Clear products.
Clear pricing.

Pricing as a Reference Point

The pricing shown in the configurator represents Juniper’s Maximum Advertised Price (MAP)—a consistent public reference for each configuration.

Trade partners, distributors, and design professionals purchase through structured programs that apply defined discounts or volume-based pricing tiers. These adjustments are predictable and aligned with project scale rather than negotiated case by case.

Publishing MAP pricing ensures that the starting point remains visible and consistent for everyone involved in the specification process.

Service is where Juniper really differentiates itself. The THIN Vertical Suspension lights were a great addition to our project, and what stood out most to me was Juniper’s response to any challenges we faced. Their attention to detail and willingness to resolve any issues show their commitment to customer satisfaction.

Our favorite part of working with Juniper is the seamless details provided and the interchangeable parts of the Multiverse System. The finishes were also great and easy to match to the rest of our design.
